The Executive Team generates and leads the implementation of strategies that encourage the development of the Private Equity industry in Mexico working with the Board of Directors and the Committees of Institutional Relations, Dissemination, Promotion and Venture Capital.

Liliana is CEO from AMEXCAP since April, 2018. Before this, she was Venture Capital Director of the National Entrepreneurship Institute (INADEM). She has more than 15 years of experience in development banks in areas such as projects evaluation, technical assistance and project management with multilateral and bilateral funding.


She has worked as an independent consultant and project manager of local economic development projects financed with international cooperation funds.


Mrs. Reyes has graduated in international affairs from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. She has master degree in Local Economic Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a master degree in International Cooperation and Project Management from the Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset from Madrid, Spain.  She also has a Diploma in Private Equity from the IPADE Business School.


INADEM is an institution within the Mexican Ministry of Economy, which aims to implement, execute and coordinate the national policy to support entrepreneurs, and micro, small and medium enterprises, fostering innovation, competitiveness and projection in national and international markets.

Santiago currently collaborates in the Mexican Association of PE & VC Funds (AMEXCAP) serving as the Head of Institutional Relations. Among its functions, he has to foster the relations of this association among several governmental instances, federal and state levels, as well as with the Legislative Power and other actors of the industry.

Previously, in 2012, he participated in the political campaign of Lic. Enrique Peña Nieto in his candidacy for the Presidency, and during the period 2012-2014 he served as an advisor in the Office of the Presidency of the Republic.

In addition, Santiago has had several incursions into entrepreneurship, among them, he is a founding partner of the brand "Sal & Mar", Mexican e-commerce dedicated to the sale of beach items (sunglasses, inflatables and swimsuits) focused on the lifestyle of young millennials. Founding partner of the company "Rush Bar", which offers catering services exclusively of Molecular Mixology (transformation of a liquid drink into different states of matter).

Santiago holds a Master in Management from the Escuela de Alta Dirección y Administración (EADA) in Barcelona, ​​Spain and holds a degree in Economics and Finance from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).

Works in AMEXCAP since 2014. Currently within the AMEXCAP is responsible for Institutional Relations with the objective of linking member funds with government agencies, associations and chambers to raise awareness of the private capital sector among entrepreneurs and state governments, secretariats of economic development through Organization of regional forums, breakfasts meetings and presentations.

Among other activities, she is responsible of coordinating courses and programs with universities and educational institutions that support the training and updating of the main actors in the industry through programs and courses specialized in private and entrepreneurial or venture capital.

Also supports the AMEXCAP in the follow-up of Memberships and Prospecting for new affiliates and associates,

She holds a degree in economics from the UIA, and specialized courses in finance and accounting.

Previously she had worked in the financial sector at Banco Santander in the area of ​​correspondent banking and international business and as a consultant in the area of ​​corporate finance at Andersen Consulting.

Daniela Piña

Daniela Piña is Technical Committee Associate at AMEXCAP, she coordinates all five strategic Committees at the Association, as well as AMEXCAP’s Management and Executive Board. Her main task is to provide monitoring and follow up to Committees’ agendas and agreements made during Board sessions.

Daniela has a college degree on International Relations by Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México. During her college years, she made an internship in Promexico, particularly on the Business Intelligence Area. For three years, she worked as research assistant on international law issues for PhD. Gabriela Rodríguez. After graduating she worked at a consultant firm, providing strategic sponsoring to companies going through a crisis. Regarding Federal Government, she recently served as chief of staff for the Mexican foreign service and Human Resources General Direction in the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Sergio Margalef works as a Strategy Associate in AMEXCAP promoting AMEXCAP's relationships with LPs, GP's and VC Funds, identifying best practices, generating useful information for the assigned segments, proposing special projects to the Association and participating in the generation of agendas for the AMEXCAP events. He holds a bachelor's degree in International Business from Universidad Iberoamericana and before joining AMEXCAP he worked at Citigroup and GBM Grupo Bursátil Mexicano.  


Brenda Aguilar, Project Analyst

Brenda join to AMEXCAP in 2011. She is responsible to manage the content of the AMEXCAP website. She is in charge to publish the Weekly Newsletter for members and the Monthly Newsletter of the Private Equity Industry, as well as to elaborate the Directory of AMEXCAP Members. She follows up approved projects of the association with INADEM. On 2012 – 2013 she followed up companies benefited from the “Programa Mercado de Deuda”, in wich AMEXCAP was Operating Organzation. Brenda has been advisor from “Programa de Consultores Financieros PYME” and at the ITESM Incubator. She was Research Assistant and Fellow of the Institutional Research Training Program at CIECAS-IPN. Brenda holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from ESE- IPN. And a Diploma in Private Equity and VEnture Capital by Universidad Anahuac.

Juan Pablo is part of the AMEXCAP research team, carrying out various analysis to generate studies and reveal useful information for the funds, focusing mainly on Private Equity, Infrastructure and Energy. He also gives advice to entrepreneurs and funds on capital raising issues. Before joining the team, he was part of a Venture Capital fund, searching actively for potential investment companies and developing financial models for the analysis of these. Previously, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Capital Markets Advisory team, advising financial sector companies on financing alternatives.

Juan Pablo has a degree in Finance and Public Accounting from Universidad Anáhuac.

Pablo is a Research Analyst at AMEXCAP. He delivers quality research products and services for AMEXCAP members and associates. He oversees the Venture Capital and Real Estate sectors and participates in the prospecting and analysis of various investments as support for different funds.

Prior to joining AMEXCAP, he was a Finance Intern at KPMG Cárdenas Dosal´s Merger & Acquisitions Team, where he prepared client pitch-books for M&A transactions that involve economy and industry overviews, financial analysis, valuation models, and other merger statistical analysis. Furthermore, he assisted on live M&A deals with other KPMG teams.

Pablo holds a business administration degree from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México.

Desde febrero de 2018, Paulina forma parte del equipo de Logística y Comunicación en la Asociación Mexicana de Capital Privado (AMEXCAP). Entre sus principales actividades se encuentran el manejo de las redes sociales y la generación de contenidos de difusión, así como la promoción de eventos y coordinación logística con patrocinadores y proveedores.


Paulina tiene experiencia previa en monitoreo y análisis de contenidos mediáticos en el Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones. También se ha desempeñado como consultora de investigación de mercados en el Instituto de Investigaciones Sociales y de investigación académica en un centro de empoderamiento para mujeres. Anteriormente trabajó en la filial mexicana de la comercializadora japonesa Mitsui, como coordinadora logística de importación. Cuenta con una maestría en Comunicación por la Universidad Iberoamericana y cursos especializados de análisis de contenidos, redacción y escritura creativa.

Martha Laura´s passion is technology innovation.
Regional Director at AMEXCAP Mexican Association of PE & VC Funds, operating in Guadalajara City.
Fund Manager at SIPI FUND, seed capital fund focused on early stage technology innovations.

She has invested in startups related with health, robotics and software industries, and also helped food and bigdata companies with fundraising strategies through government grants.

At EY MEXICO, she was in charge of INNOVATION INCENTIVES at as an advisor for Big and Medium companies as well as working with entrepreneurs and startups, defining fundraising strategy for innovation.
She graduated from IPADE-ADECAP, and previously found  SIP INNOVATION, a technology transfer office certified by CONACYT and Economy Secretary, managing more than 50 Million in grants for technology innovation.
She is active in Latin America through LES INTERNATIONAL, being member of the Valuation Committee, as well as identifying key opportunities to commercialize new technology and startups with technology innovations, participating in many conferences and seminars in Brussels, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru during this last 5 years.
She represented Mexico at WIPO-WTO during the intensive course for developing countries for the topic Technology Transfer in Mexico and Latin America in 2010. 
First member of Intellectual Property Exchange Program between Japan and Mexico, from Japanese International Cooperation Agency, developed together with Osaka Institute of Technology. Osaka Japan, 2009.
In additional to her chemical engineer degree, she has a Master in Science and Technology Commercialization from University of Texas.
